Exclusive TAH Team Trick and Tools

Hey TAH Team,

Week Theme:

Self-Compassion in Competitive Environments – Being Kind to Yourself While Striving for Excellence

Weekly Info:

Ever heard the saying, “Kindness kills”?

This week, it’s our secret weapon:

  • Killing our past selves with incredible progress.

  • Killing the competition with the excellence we’re producing.

How? By using self-compassion as our magic weapon!

This isn’t some Shrek potion or Hogwarts spell, it’s the ogre-like strength or magical power of love, as Dumbledore would say.

Lily Johannes shared some incredible messages on this topic, even though it wasn’t the main focus of our conversation. You can find it here!

Additionally, our Deep Dive episode tackled this subject in depth.

Exclusive Trick: Killer Kindness

We’re often our own worst critic, nitpicking every tiny detail of what went wrong.

What if, instead, we flipped the script? By focusing on the good, showing ourselves some kindness, and using that positivity to pinpoint areas for improvement, we can crush our internal critic and the competition.

Exclusive Action Tools:

  1. Take a moment. Find the good. Pause and identify three things that went well. A little kindness goes a long way.

  2. Take a relook: With a fresh perspective, spot the small details in your performance that could use improvement.

  3. Take a reattempt: Apply what you’ve learned, whether in your next game, practice, or even at home, and let your performance soar!

Closing:

You don’t need a magic potion or a risky spell to find your killer instinct.

Sometimes, the best way to strive for excellence is to look within, recharge with a little self-compassion, and let your killer kindness do the rest.

Take it and go.

Strive for excellence!

Gabe
