Start strong and Sizzle or Get Left Behind This Fall Season!
Hey TAH Titans,
With an updated website, we are working on putting all blogs straight through there, and eventually emails will change from here to a new host! Stay tuned… but in the mean time, train your mental game below! Oh, and shirts/merch is in, so if you ordered some, I will be reaching out in the next week or so!
Are you sizzling and starting strong as this season begins, or getting left behind?
Win the pull-out, win the race, as they say in cross country! While that phrase might get a few laughs, there’s truth in it.
Yes, the tortoise may beat the hare in the story, but that’s about all we know. In reality, if you want a great season this year, you need to start strong.

When weightlifting, you don’t aim to get much stronger during the season; you refine the strength you built in the offseason and channel it into power when it counts.
The same framework applies to mental training. If you didn’t do any structured mental training in the offseason, don’t worry. You can still pull from the mental reps you took unknowingly and add them to your arsenal now.
If you don’t, you risk starting behind the pack, and unlike the tortoise, the pack won’t slow down for you. The season moves quickly, and every extra step you can get on your competition matters.
See the Start of Season Sizzle
Yep, we’re turning up the heat. But remember, sizzling can go both ways. You can cook up success, or you can burn out. Or, you can not even cook it.
Sizzle Your Season With These Steps
See the season kicking off with a bang. Make a list of all the strengths you’re bringing to the team this year, both physical skills and other intangibles.
Hone your strengths. If you had a power-up that could instantly upgrade certain skills, put it all toward your biggest strengths.
Hold the horses, keep the hares in check. Highlighting your strengths doesn’t mean ignoring your weaknesses. Acknowledge them, know when and how to work on them, but don’t let them dictate your game.
It’s like searing a steak: you cook one side really well, then flip it to give the other side some attention, but by then, the steak is almost ready.
Our performance works the same way. Go into the season with this clarity in mind.

How Does Your Sizzle Taste?
The athletes we’re training right now are each applying this “cooking method” in their own way. Whether it’s prime time, offseason, or fall ball, TAH Titans are kicking off their race with TAH training. Are you?
Get your seasonal steak on the grill and start cooking, if you haven’t already. Cook one side longer, but don’t neglect the other. The goal is to highlight your strengths over your weaknesses so you can perform at your best.
Sizzle away!
Gabe, TAH
P.S. We’re now being seen by a much larger audience (thanks to all of you!), so the website just got an update. There are still a few kinks to work out, but you’re the first to know. Check it out here: www.TheAthletesHealth.com
