Hey TAH Titans,

Are you a member of Shoot360 Cedar Rapids? If so, make sure to check your email about our upcoming collab next week! You’ve got to see that vision before it happens…

Week Theme:

The 5 Critical Visions Every Athlete Needs

Weekly Info:

Where does vision start?

That vision of winning is so clear in our minds… but what does it actually look like?

  • Is it a crisp, crystal-clear image, playing in slow motion like a movie?

  • Or is it a blink-and-you-miss-it moment that leaves us wondering, “What was that? Did I just see a ghost?!”

Some athletes never actively think about vision, while others start visualizing right before a game, during breakfast, or even in bed before sleeping.

While all of these are great opportunities for vision work, there’s one critical area where vision truly begins…

Practice.

We touch on this when Angie and I sit down in the studio this week to discuss filling up different cups, as well as in our Deep Dive on the 5 visions every athlete needs!

Exclusive Trick: DVD to PVD

DVD = Digital Versatile Disc

PVD = Practice Vision Disc

You remember those DVD players in minivans, where you had to bring the actual disc to watch a movie?

Yeah, now we just use phones and iPads, but follow along…

Exclusive Action Tools:

  1. DVD Implementation: To get any image on the screen in that minivan, we needed to physically have the DVD with us, we couldn’t forget it. The same applies to our PVD (Practice Vision Disc).

  2. Insert: Every practice, we need to mentally insert our PVD, ensuring our vision is intentional and focused on preparation, not just going through the motions.

  3. Rewind: After each practice, rewind the vision, reflect on the moments, and identify what needs more clarity or improvement.

In Action:

I recently talked to a coach whose team achieved some incredible goals.

But what stood out the most? Their PVD.

They didn’t just practice to practice, they practiced like it was the championship game. Every session, every drill, every moment was built around preparing for the highest level of competition.

That’s what Practice Vision Disc is all about, training with purpose before the moment comes.

Visioning the moment before it comes.

Closing:

Whether we need glasses or have 20/20 vision, we can always improve how we see the game.

Athletes often underestimate the power of vision work, yet everything in performance starts with what we see.

And while DVDs may be old school, hopefully, PVDs can start making their rounds in athletic spaces soon!

Stay visionaries,

Gabe
