Week Theme:

Stop Thinking, Start Doing — How To Perform Under Pressure

Weekly Info:

Stop, drop, and roll… they say it’s what to do if you ever find yourself on fire. Know what else is really hot? The pressure we all face.

On the court, field, mound, track, you name it. But it doesn’t stop there. We deal with pressure daily in school, work, and life.

I know I’m constantly hit with flame ball after flame ball, making me second guess every decision under pressure.

That’s exactly why this week’s Deep Dive episode tackled this topic, bringing in new, actionable tips, tricks, and tools to help you handle pressure with confidence.

No guest podcast this week, but instead, we took #TAHMentalGym to 82 eighth-grade students to see how it resonated with them, and the outcome was amazing. Check it out on IG, FB, or LinkedIn!

Exclusive Trick: Fire!

Pressure can feel too hot to handle… so intense it clouds our judgment, making decisions difficult.

The smoke builds up, and suddenly, we can’t see clearly.

Let’s take what we already know about handling a fire and apply it to our mental fire.

Exclusive Action Tools:

  1. Stop overthinking: Seriously, just stop. Overthinking leads to hesitation, and hesitation fuels pressure.

  2. Drop the thoughts: Let them go. Picture dropping a bowling ball off a building, no hesitation, no second guessing.

  3. Roll forward: Rolling is a continuous motion. Once we drop the excess thoughts, we move forward, no looking back.

Closing:

I can attest, whether it’s sports, school, work, or life, things get hot under pressure.

But we already know how to handle a fire physically, so let’s use the same stop, drop, and roll framework to clear the smoke and lower the temperature on our mental game.

Stay cool! Gabe
